Great clarity on the monitor. The camera in my son's room can only be seen if we are in the bedroom next to his. There is way too much interference to see both rooms if both cameras are on. Don't think that you can sync one camera to one monitor because it's the radio interference that prevents you from seeing each room clearly. It was the only system out there at the time (2008) that offered two camera's to one monitor without interference.
I don't know if something has come out since we bought the system in April of 2008, but I would not recommend trying to use this as a multi-camera system. My daughter's room works the best only because it's the closest to the master bedroom. Well, i bought into the advertising and found out it's doesn't deliver. I purchased this system when my second child was born. In order to use the monitor to see either child's room I have to make sure the other camera is off.
We cannot see his room at all from anywhere else in the house UNLESS my daughter's camera is turned off.
The Mobi one that just sits there and is static is not worth the money. So annoying. The night vision is NOT automatic, so you have to pick it up to change it to night mode and then the camera that you so carefully positioned has to be repositioned again. That one is sooo worth it. The base stopped working. The main camera socket is loose so it turns off because there's no electric current going to it. I bought the Summer video camera that has auto night mode and moves almost 360 and 180 up/down plus zooms in.
I went out a bought a $40 monitor (with no video) today and am SO much happier with this product. I do not recommend the MobiCam AT ALL. The sound quality is awful and the video quality is nothing to write home about. I spend so much time positioning it so that I can minimize the interference enough to hear my son. It might still be a good idea - but not with this monitor. I spent over $200 on this and as a first time mom thought it would be a great idea to have a video monitor. It is practically unusable. In fact, I never even position it the camera on my son anymore because i can't ever see what he is doing as the quality is so bad.
There was no sound and the screen went bad, we could hardly see anything. One set broke down after a month. We ended up buying the Sony monitor (just sound, no camera) and had been using it for a year. I bought 2 of these video monitors, 1 for our house and 1 for grandparents' house. I bought them refurbished, one set looked like it was opened but not used, the other set looked like it was used (and abused). The second set worked for about 6 months then the sound stopped working.
I am happy with it though and will be using it for our next baby. I now just use it at night when she's asleep and i'm in bed. We went though so many batteries it was unbeliveable. The only other complaint I have is how static it gets. My husband bought me this camera about a year ago. I thought that it would be good to use when I was outside or in another part of the house when the baby was sleeping but all it did was eat the batteries up. I have it hooked up and now works good.
